Some Thoughts About Doctrinal Disunity In Christianity

In my search for the Truth from God, I have discerned that one's intellectual understanding of the text is only one part of faith. It must be kept in it's place. The most important part of one's understanding, must be spiritually revealed to solidify that faith.

I am so thankful that Scripture itself reveals how Our Father has provided Lord Jesus as the Rabbi, the Apostle who is available to us through the holy Spirit dwelling in those who have received this birth. This extremely rare and comforting verse I go to many times because of the common disunity inherent in today's Christianity.

....Lord Jesus frames the foundation of everything for me in clear words.

Matthew 11:27 All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him

This comforts me to know that the only way to full unity in the body of Christ is for one, perfect revelation, from the only God, who is absolutely perfect in Unity and Sovereign over our individual knowledge and understanding....keeping us all humble.

The humility of Lord Jesus and the apostle Paul are wonderfully displayed... in their beautiful obedience, inspired .....in blessings and prayers recorded in the New Testament. The holy Spirit can also lead us to be firm and unwavering when our solid revelation is challenged by others for different reasons. But, we must respond in humility and loving service.

Practically, wouldn't there be a distinction in the fruit from a True revelation from the True Vine.....versus the fruit from a distortion of the Truth?

I know that BiblicalUnitarian.com has a video 'Practical Consequences of Believing in the Trinity'. Some other doctrines that I have found to be implausible are: Calvinism, Eternal Conscious Torment, the immortal soul departing at death, and the Incarnation of God/Deity of Christ doctrine.

What I find interesting is that those of us who have scrutinized one doctrine, and found its flaws; many of us have also been lead to a re-examining of all others as well.

This is part of our tribulation that Lord Jesus and His apostles warned about....deception and false teachers.....and deep, worldwide disunity over who is lord Messiah Jesus....that began in His days before His Ascension.

These are days to be walking in the Spirit, in the full armor of God and in continual prayer.
